$21,000 later
I was to make my debut with New Orleans Opera in April of last year. After a tour, which showed how much of the devastation STILL is not fixed, I had a swollen left calf which turned out to be a life-threatening blood clot.
I was admitted to the hospital and stayed about 7 days, having Heparin and, finally, a tulip filter implanted. The hospital bill alone came to around $17,000. Additionally, each doctor and service had their own bills added, which I finally paid off at $100 a month. Since I was late in paying it, the hospital tacked on $3,000 in LATE FEES! I am trying to find a Debt Settlement Solution, but I have to pay THEM for the service. No telling what is will do to my credit rating or my finances.
