How Mental Illness Ruined My Children's Credit
I have two grown children that presented with mental illness in their later teen years. Both were in denial of course until they were at least 25 -26 years of age.
When they were both hospitalized at different periods of time, three things happened. First-they incurred a hospital bill that was impossible for them to pay. Second-when they could not pay in a timely manner their credit was ruined. This now makes it impossible to rent an apartment or buy a used car with out their parents cosigning for any loans. Third-they can not get health insurance with mental illness as a preexisting condition.
What a sad state of affairs and totally demeaning. Shame on the US for throwing away good people. It all comes down to the dollar and greed!
