Real health care - not here in the US
My eldest sister and her husband were on vacation in Ireland. My sister suffered an aneurysm in one of the liver arteries. It was a Sunday; most restaurants in Northern Ireland are closed. Fortunately, some EMT's were also at this open establishment. My sister had collapsed in the parking lot. The EMT's took her pulse - virtually non-existent. They took her to their local clinic - the doctor examined her and told the EMT's to take to the Royal Victorian Hospital in Belfast - he'd call ahead. A team of surgeons were standing by - a five hour operation four days in ICU, then 8 days on a ward before release. Absolutely no cost to my sister, nor Kaiser of which she's a member. Life saving surgery - FREE!
